Love Aaj Kal, a movie which comes up with two stories divided by times. As the movie got released on the Valentine eve, here’s a review about it.
Zoe (Sara Ali Khan) is a passionate girl who wants to make her career in event management. Thus, she works harder for it. When she sails with her dream, there comes Veer (Kartik Aryan) who screws up everything. Though he is slightly stupid, he truly loves Zoe. But Zoe, as she isn’t interested in any serious relationship and irked by his stupidity, ignors him.
But she slowly starts leaving her career behind when she hears the story of Raghu (Randeep Hooda).
Raghu runs a co-working space where Zoe works. When he notices Zoe ignoring Veer, he narrates the love story of Raghu and Leena.
Listening to his story, Zoe accepts Veer. Even though she gets an opportunity for her career, she neglects it only for Veer. But her crave to stay with Veer ends when Zoe finds Raghu with another girl. Though her question ‘How could you forget Leena?’ gets an answer, she doesn’t feel satisfied. Thus, the confused Zoe, breaks up with Veer. Later, how they unite is the remaining part of the story.
Love Aaj Kal, though it brings in a love story it seems to be a casual one. Be it the past of Raghu and Leena or the present of Veer and Zoe, both are just different in times. Randeep hooda who narrates the story of his past fails to create an impact among the audience. Thus, unlike Zoe, the viewers doesn’t feel it attractive. Kartik Aryan and Sara Ali Khan have played their roles amazingly but their love story doesn’t impress anyone. Although the movie fails to make an impression, Kartik and Sara’s chemistry has come out really good.
A movie’s core part is song that brings the audiences to the theatres. Likewise, the songs Shayad, Mehrama and Haan Main Galat is really fantastic.
Imtiaz Ali’s movie always comes up with great expectations. And after it’s release, people feel satisfied too. But this movie fails to fulfill the expectations. Thus, Love Aaj Kal is ok to watch once.
